Travelling:

Already as a child, six years old, I went with my parents and my sister and my brother on my little red bike from Den Heldr to Amsterdam - a trip of 80km.

After my education and driven by inqisity, I went to work in Freiburg, Southern Germany. Then send out to Brussels where I worked eight years. After military duty I went back to Germany and travelled around the country in the company’s Technical Service.

After I met my future Danish wife, we left both for Denmark. From there, we (she) was send out for duty in both Indonesia and Bangladesh where we stayed for a total of four years.

We travelled really a lot around in Indonesia, visiting a lot on Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan (Borneo), Sulawesi and of course Bali several times. Especially from Bangladesh we travelled a lot around in the neighboring countries. This because of Bangladesh was centrally situated in South East Asia and because we had to leave from time to time to withstand the poverty of the country. We made trips to India where we visited Delhi, Japura, Accra and later also Calcutta. But also tracking in the Himalaya and travelling to Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and last but not least a fourteen days trip around in Burma.

When leaving Bangladesh, we took round the world – starting with a final trip to Bangkok. Then we visited the Philippines, including Boracay Island – one of the best destinations in the world. We continued to Tokyo and crossed the Pacific to Los Angeles. From there, we went on to Washington DC, New York, Boston and Ottawa before returning to Denmark.

After my wife died of cancer at the age of forty-two, I visited a friend working on a project in Tanzania.

Driving in a four-wheel-drive  from Dar-es-Salaam to the Kilimanjaro (Arusha) and continued on the way to the N’gorongoro crater following the first ever found footsteps of mankind at the Great Rift Valley. Then, we drove through the wildlife of the N’gorongoro and Serengeti Plains to Lake Victoria, not far away from my friend’s project. I finished that trip with a relaxing week on Zanzibar.

Remarried, getting a son, my new wife and I still love to travel. In the mean time, we have visited quit a few places in Western Europe and went back to Thailand twice and stayed and travelled The Gambia.
